Alex J Geairns MCIM

Role: Station Director
Mission Impossible Alter Ego: Jim Phelps

Alex left his Civil Service career after 20 years in Public Sector communications (publishing, marketing and PR) over six years ago, and quickly achieved a degree of notoriety on Sky television for his year as the presenter and producer of On the Edge for Edge Media's Controversial TV channel (2011-2012).

He also formatted and presented DVD review comedy panel show Behind the Sofa, producing six one-hour episodes for the same channel for less than £1,000.

Alex then moved to community radio, formatting and fronting several shows. One in particular, Doomwatch, became something more than just an audio broadcast when it was relayed live in sound and vision. This was via the internet for its entire first season run of 58 editions.

He directed and fronted the annual Cult TV Festival for its 14 years from 1994 to 2007, and currently works in event management, now for a range of clients. This all gives Alex a perfect platform for leading on social training initiatives.

Alex is also a lecturer, giving presentations on the facts in extraordinary screen fiction. His first novel, Mindful, was published in 2015 by Matador.

Alex is a Member of the National Union of Journalists, Equity and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and can be found in Spotlight.
